Amazon Seller Services Pvt. Ltd. (ASSPL) today announced the opening of a second Fulfilment Centre (FC), spread over 50,000 square feet with more than 170,000 cubic feet storage space in Bawla Taluka on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. The new FC will allow Amazon.in to offer its Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) service to the growing need of thousands of small and medium businesses in the region and empower them to gain access to and service customers across the country at significantly low operating costs. The two FCs together is now close to 200,000 cubic feet of storage area.
In time for the upcoming festive season including Navratri, the two FCs, will enable local SMEs to leverage Amazon’s trusted platform and nationwide delivery thereby amplifying their reach beyond geographical boundaries. Ahmedabad based sellers, weavers & artisans involved in traditional textiles & local handicrafts too would be able to reach a wider set of customers and provide a delightful customer experience through this new FC. The FC will also provide a fillip to the local economy by enabling the growth of ancillary businesses such as packaging, transportation, logistics and hospitality across the state.
More than 200 sellers across the state have already registered at this facility and many of them have started inbounding their products. Over 95% of the sellers registered with this FC are from Gujarat and as many as 50% of them are from Ahmedabad. . The FC also has a large selection of apparels which are manufactured in Gujarat thereby giving an impetus to local manufacturing.
